About the workshop

Deep breathing is a key to relaxing. Learning to work with our breath allows us to increase our energy levels, calm our minds, relax our bodies and over time to increase our resilience to stress.

The Manage Your Mind Workshops are about learning new skills to help people cope better with and in many cases to overcome the stresses, worries and hard knocks from life. All who attend feel it is time to do something to change their lives for the better. Some people attend because they are worried and anxious – others because they have encountered a sudden crisis in their lives. Some people just want to de-stress and improve their lives. The Workshops are designed for people with mild to moderate stress, anxiety or depression – subject to meeting the acceptance criteria.

On the Workshops, you will learn:

  • Powerful breathing exercises to calm the mind and reduce levels of stress, anxiety and depression – These involve advanced Yoga breathing techniques, meditation, and relaxation.
  • The main breathing exercise you will learn is Sudarshan Kriya Yoga (SKY). This is a comprehensive programme derived from yoga, which has been shown to be of benefit in numerous high stress environments.
  • Guided meditations and processes that calm the mind
  • Skills for handling negative emotions and everyday situations
  • Practical points on how to improve work and interpersonal relationships
  • Techniques to strengthen the relationship between mind and body.

You will be taught breathing and meditation techniques for physical and mental relaxation, combined with simple information that equips you with the skills required to handle the common emotional and psychological responses to challenging situations.

The Workshop focuses on your state of mind, encouraging you to think positively. Once you have learnt the breathing and other techniques, they are easy for you to use at home on a daily basis, using our online web application.  The more you practice, the greater the benefit.

All workshops will be held over three consecutive days and taught in groups of up to twenty people, which is good for motivating everyone and makes it more fun.
